Blue skies at Abu Bakar Royal Meseum
|
|
I'm still in Johore Baru, Johore Malaysia now doing office work. I was at Johore Museum this morning. The clouds were very blue and clear. This was the 'blues' and 'clearest' that i have seen ever since i arrived in Johore Bahru since last two weeks.
The Johore Museum has a huge botanical garden simply called Lake Garden. This is the museum that housed most of the personal belongings to the Kings of Johore. The museum is divided into several sections; The Hall (The Dewan), The Throne Room (Bilik Singgahsana), The Treasure Rooms (Bilik Khazanah) and the Hunting Room (Koleksi Perburuan). Sadly photographs were not allowed here. So, i took photos outside of the museum, which was not bad at all with all the blue skies!!.
Here are some of them.

Sesat ke?

EDITED
Sekian terima kasih!

this is where i've been working....
|
|
for the last one week and until to the mid december this year.
yeah, i'm in down south of Peninsular Malaysia due to work commitment. Due of this, i have
to cancel some of the wedding engagements . Terribly sorry to my prospective clients. This
is something that i cant help. I have three mouths to feed and i need to keep priority right
at this moment.
Anyway, insyaAllah by mid of next month i'll be back in KL.
By the way, something abt my working place now. The company (subsidiary) was acquired by my current company (holding company) and my company has become the major share holder. This subsidiary company is one of the biggest marine repair business in the region. It carries out :
1) repairs (such as vessel repair, drydocking, refitting and refurbishment from aframaxes
(>100 Dead Weight Tonne), panamaxes (>70 DWT), ULCCs - ultra large crude carriers (400 DWT) , VLCCs - very large crude carriers (250-300DWT), petroleum tankers, chemical tankers, oil rigs, gas carriers, and other offshore support vessels. Even Sembawang ship repair in Spore could not even come close when it comes to marine repair. This subsidiary even have afacility to lift the vessel to the dry land. This is called shiplifting. There are only 5
cranes in the world that can do shiplifting and this company has one.
2) it also carries out marine conversion to FPSO (floating, production, storage and offloading) or FSO (floating, storage and offloading) of crude oil. It also carries out jumboisation works, such as length and breadth extension.
3) other business is engineering and construction such as fabrication, building and upgrading of deepwater vessels, drilling platforms and other oil and gas facilities for
mostly national petroleum company and foreign oil compannies.
I made a brief yard visit a few days ago and i was flabbergasted with the huge size of the
vessel. The photo below is a crude tanker oil ARMATA bound for ship repair. The size is
really really huge.

To answer keranji2121 question, here are some of the explanation.
1) For Bulk carriers series, they have Panamax Series, Handymax Series and Handysize siries - the names would come in Bunga types such as Bunga Saga (1 -10), Bunga Orkid (Satu - Lima), BUnga Melor etc etc. Anyway, most of the Bulk carriers are sold off already.
2) For Container carriers there are classify based on their TEUs (twenty equivalent units or container) - They use names such as Bunga Delima, BUnga Pelangi, Bunga Teratai, Bunga Mas (Lima - 12) etc etc. Most of them were sold off already.
3) Chemical tankers - there are Melati Class, Anggerik Class, Semarak Class and Melawis Class - such as Bunga Melati (Satu - Tujuh) and etc.
4) For Petroleum tankers they have VLCC, Aframax, Produc Tankers and LPG. They use names like Bunga Kelana series, Bunga Kerayong, Bunga Kemiri and also Eagle series (from American Eagle Tankers (AET) company) - such as Eagle Milwaukee, Eagle Baltimore, Eagle Phoenix etc etc)
5) LNG Carriers they have Aman Class, Puteri Class and Puteri Class Satu - such as Puteri Delima, Puteri Nilam, Aman Bintulu, Aman Hakata, Tenaga Satu etc etc.
Hope it helps

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri dgn Tulus Ikhlas
|
|
To those that wish me Selamat Hari Raya and i did not manage to reply the same to you, thousand apologies.
Went back to all three states in the East Coast of Malaysia to celebrate raya. From Bukit Marak, Bachok Kelantan to Tanjong, Kuala Terengganu and finally to Kubang Buaya, Kuantan Pahang.
Along the way, i took coastal road from Kuantan to K Trg. The weather was perfect that morning. No traffic (yet!) and i was cruising along the Terengganu coastal road. Beaches were perfect and the sky was as blue as you can get!
Stopped at Rantau Abang beach and my daughter is my model of the day!
anyway, selamat hari raya tulus ikhlas from all of us.

Happy Merdeka Day Malaysia !!
|
|
Managed to take this pic of Rafidah hugging Tun Mahathir after the celebration of 48th Merdeka at Putrajaya on 31 August 2005.
I was lucky enough to get the image of them hugging together, due to AP (approved permit and not Ayah Pin issue ) issue which was hotly exchanged for the past few months. The image was used on the 1st Sept 2005 front page of Berita Harian and maybe NST too. Due to "technical error", my name was left out and was put under BERNAMA ... oh well.... The other two pics were taken by BERNAMA photog AFTER both of them hugged.
The first two pics were taken by BERNAMA photog
EDITED : This one was not taken by yours truly
Note : Image shot with Nikon D70 + Nikkor 70-200/2.8+1.4X Kenko Teleconverter. Shot in burst mode.
PS : Anyone knows any good frame maker shop?
EDITED 01/09/2005 : After coming back home and checked my original files, the pic on NST was not taken by yours truly, only the one appeared in Berita Harian was taken by me. Apologize for that.
